Sept 19th – Living with Deer (and other animals) since the Ice Age

David Ireson - deer talk

Audio-visual: David Ireson of the British Deer Society

Ice Age people respected the other wild animals they lived among. All creatures shared the same struggle to survive, to hunt or be hunted. The balance of nature they knew was sustained for hundreds of years.

Today the natural environment is under threat from all sides. Wildlife, including birds, insects and mammals, all need help.  Deer issues today include difficult questions of habitat loss, overgrazing, deer-vehicle-collisions and organized poaching.

    Hello Ellie,
The way you have put the details of the talk on 19th September is really lovely and helpful. Thank you for taking so much trouble. I really hope those coming will find the evening worthwhile, the pictures interesting and the true situatiion of deer in our countryside worth knowing about.
    Many thanks,
    David.
