“Aardvarks and Elephants: When I was in Africa”

A talk by Paul Chanin

Honorary member of DMG and President of The Mammal Society, Paul has recently returned from this amazing trip.

He says:

“Although 70% of Botswana lies within the boundaries of the Kalahari Desert, it is rich in wildlife. For example, the biomass of its people is roughly the same as the biomass of its Elephants. In May and June this year I spent five weeks in Botswana and neighbouring countries with two fellow zoologists. We recorded over 50 species of mammals, including 16 carnivores, and had close encounters of various kinds. Come and find out more about them and the country in which they live.”
